InState Hosts Inaugural GovTech Summit Powered by Amazon Web Services

GovTech investor and political networking firm, InState, has teamed up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and its government technology accelerator program, AWS GovTechStart for a GovTech Summit. The event brings together entrepreneurs, innovators, public sector leaders, investors, and government affairs professionals to chart the current and future landscape of the rapidly expanding GovTech market.

Over a two-day period, the event will host numerous panels and fireside chats with speakers who are leaders in this space. Panels will range from discussions on how GovTech businesses can secure venture capital, to strategies for breaking into new markets, to issues that are top-of-mind for chief information and technology officers, and much more.

“InState has invested in cutting-edge companies such as Symantec AI, Indigov, Merit, and PayIt—all which are doing incredible things in the world of providing robust GovTech services and connecting citizens to government,” said Ryan Brennan, Managing Director, InState. “Helping to drive GovTech solutions will continue to be a core business line of InState.”

GovTech has seen tremendous growth in recent years and during the COVID-19 pandemic as local, state, and federal agencies seek to modernize the services they deliver to citizens. For businesses positioned to provide technology solutions to government agencies, oftentimes access to government IT decision makers and leaders is one of the biggest barriers to success. The summit helps remove this barrier by creating a forum for entrepreneurs and

public sector leaders to connect, broadening opportunities for GovTech businesses to collaborate with government agencies to modernize citizen services.
“The summit brings together a full ecosystem of entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and decision makers in one place to help jumpstart a digital transformation of government function and services,” said Lacey Biles, Vice President, InState. “InState’s mission is to seek out and help to accelerate the most innovative companies in the GovTech sector.”

The event, taking place October 25-26 in Austin, TX, is the inaugural GovTech Summit hosted by InState, which has plans to grow each year and continue facilitating open discussions between businesses, investors, and public affairs professionals. InState chose to collaborate with AWS GovTechStart because of the program’s mission to help U.S. startup companies build the next generation of technology solutions for state and local government agencies using the AWS Cloud. As the public sector continues to use cloud services to accelerate digital transformation, AWS GovTechStart will help its program members improve government technology and build solutions that are secure, scalable, and cost effective.
